Welcome to MilleWalk, developed and operated by Vinoth Krishnamurthy, trading as Elated Studio. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the MilleWalk mobile application on iOS or Android.

By using MilleWalk, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Health and Motion Data

MilleWalk uses your device's pedometer sensor to count steps and calculate distance walked. This requires:

• Activity Recognition (Android) — required to access the step counter sensor
• Motion & Fitness (iOS) — required to access CoreMotion step counting

Step and distance data is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers.

2.2 Walk Session Data

The following is stored locally on your device only:

• Steps taken and distance walked per session
• Routes selected and progress along each route
• Landmarks unlocked and walk history
• Daily step counts and hourly breakdowns
• Achievements unlocked
• App preferences (tracking mode, units, step length, notifications)

2.3 Subscription Information

If you purchase a premium subscription, payment is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) directly. We do not store or process payment details. Subscription status is verified through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider.

2.4 Crash and Diagnostic Data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include device type, OS version, and app state at time of crash. No personally identifiable information is included.

2.5 Usage Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used — for example, which routes are most popular and how often walks are completed. This data is aggregated and anonymous. No step counts, health data, or personal information is included.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide core functionality — step counting, distance tracking, landmark unlocking, route progress
• Save your progress — resume walks where you left off, view history and achievements
• Manage subscriptions — verify premium access via RevenueCat
• Fix bugs — anonymous crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics
• Improve the app — aggregated, anonymous usage data via Firebase Analytics
• Send notifications — landmark unlocks, milestones, walk reminders (only if enabled)

4. Data Storage

4.1 On-Device Storage

All personal data — step counts, walk history, route progress, achievements, and preferences — is stored locally on your device only. We do not sync this data to our servers.

4.2 Street View Images

MilleWalk displays pre-cached Street View images stored in Firebase Storage. These images are public route imagery and contain no personal data. Your device downloads them when you walk a route.

4.3 Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

5. Data Sharing

5.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5.2 Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google) — crash reporting, anonymous analytics, and Street View image storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Mapbox — map tiles and route directions displayed during walks. Mapbox Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase verification. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for premium subscriptions

6. Health Data

MilleWalk accesses step count data from your device's motion sensor to power walk tracking. This data is:

• Stored only on your device
• Never transmitted to our servers
• Never shared with third parties
• Not used for advertising purposes

MilleWalk does not integrate with Apple Health or Google Fit at this time.

7. Notifications

MilleWalk may send local notifications for landmark unlocks, distance milestones, walk completion, and walk reminders (premium, if enabled). All notifications are local — generated by your device, not sent from our servers. You can disable them in device settings or within the app under Profile → Notifications.

8. Your Rights and Choices

• Access — all your data is viewable within the app
• Delete — uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
• Opt out of analytics — contact us at support@elatedstudio.com
• Revoke permissions — revoke activity/motion permission in device settings (step tracking will not function without it)
• Notifications — disable any notification type in Profile → Notifications

9. Children's Privacy

MilleWalk is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us at support@elatedstudio.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
